Originally from Saskatchewan, this singer-songwriter has worked with groups Folle Avoine and Hart Rouge. Singing in both French and English with her brother and sisters, this adventure spans more than ten years and boasts an impressive list of accomplishments: six albums, several radio hits and many tours across Canada, Europe and the United States.
In 1995, Annette decided to leave Hart Rouge to pursue her own challenge: a solo career.
Since then, this dynamic performer has put to good use her many years of experience and talent as a singer-songwriter to release in February 1997 a debut album produced by Marc Perusse on Zero Musique Records called “ Sauter de Haut. ” This album, which translates as “ Jumping from high up” generated three radio hits, LE CŒUR EST SOURD, MON ÉGO and SAUTER DE HAUT, which climbed the charts in Quebec and French Canada. The release of the album gave her the chance to perform across Quebec and to open for many Quebec artists such as Luc De Larochellière, Claude Dubois and Laurence Jalbert.
Though mostly known for her work in Quebec, Annette has charmed audiences across Canada, the United States and Europe with her brand of pop-folk-rock music. She has shared the stage with many Canadian artists such as Barney Bentall and Connie Kaldor, has played at numerous folk festivals, special events (ex: new year’s eve on parliament hill), television and radio specials for CBC, TVA and others as well as showcases across Canada. She has an extensive repertoire of english material, both original compositions and favorite picks. Recently relocated back to Saskatchewan and her roots, Annette plans to branch out into the english market. Some have compared her new english material to that of Sheryl Crow’s or Shawn Colvin’s, two artists she is particularly fond of, but Annette Campagne has a style all her own, one she is only beginning to discover. Determined and committed, Annette is presently writing songs for her next album. It goes without saying that her energy will contribute to consolidate her dreams, an odyssey worth following…
